The ideal state of a dealing desk is silence. No notifications means everything is within parameters — no unusual positions, no suspicious behaviour, no infrastructure problems. The dealer can focus on the work that requires judgement rather than reaction.
When that silence breaks, Brokerpilot generates notifications. The nature and volume of those notifications tells the dealer what kind of threat has emerged. But when multiple triggers fire at once — during a volatile session, a news event, or a sudden client behaviour cluster — the ability to triage becomes as important as the ability to detect.
Three priority levels
Each trigger in Brokerpilot can be assigned one of three priority levels — low, medium or critical. The priority determines both the colour of the notification and the sound signal it generates:
- Green — pay attention
- Yellow — potentially serious danger
- Red — take action immediately
This means the dealer does not need to read every notification to understand urgency. A red alert with its corresponding sound demands immediate response. Green and yellow can be processed in sequence once the critical items are handled.
Why this matters in practice
During a quiet session, a single notification is easy to process. During a volatile period — when a large news event moves multiple instruments simultaneously, or when a cluster of clients enters the same direction at once — the number of notifications can spike sharply. Without a priority system, the dealer faces an undifferentiated stream where a critical infrastructure failure competes for attention with a routine volume alert.
Priority configuration is set per trigger, which means each broker can calibrate exactly which events warrant immediate action versus which require monitoring. A scalper alert might be medium priority during normal hours and critical during a low-liquidity session. A margin level alert on a hedge account is critical by default. The system adapts to how the broker defines risk — not the other way around.
